It’s that time of year where I need to come up with an easy to make Christmas themed gift for my children’s school friends and teachers. These reindeer biscuits/cookies are so cute that they are sure to delight children and adults alike; though they do look a little bit stunned or surprised don’t they? They’d also make great biscuits for when Santa visits.
What you need
- 1 packet of Arrowroot biscuits 250g, or any oval shaped biscuits you can find
- 200g milk chocolate
- 1 packet strawberries and cream lollies
- 1 packet Jaffa chocolate balls or raspberry jellies
- 1 packet pretzels
- 1 packet white chocolate chips
- Black food colouring marker pen (optional)
Melt the chocolate in a microwave dish for 30 seconds. Give the chocolate a stir and microwave it again for another 30 seconds. Stir thoroughly until the chocolate is fully melted.
Place some of the biscuits face side up on a chopping board spaced out evenly. Spoon one teaspoon of melted chocolate on a biscuit and spread it around with the back of the spoon until the biscuit is covered.
Make the reindeer face…add a strawberries and cream lolly for its mouth, a Jaffa chocolate ball or raspberry jelly for its nose, two white chocolate chips for its eyes and two pretzels for reindeer antlers.
I managed to make 32 biscuits. Place the board in the fridge until the chocolate has set and none of the lollies slide off!
Time to eat leftover chocolate!
If you want to, you can make a black dot with a food colouring marker in the centre of the eyes after the chocolate has set, but it’s not essential.
Ta dah aren’t they cute! Present them in individual plastic gift bags with a bit of ribbon.
Have a safe and happy Christmas everyone xx
Lovely! And I also see two great helpers. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
